This practice sounds vaguely familiar. I can’t remember another time that building up a massive stockpile of weapons to ensure nobody used weapons ever happened. And what could possibly go wrong.
Alright, in fairness comparing this concept to a nuclear standoff is unfair, because good guys with guns are inherently safe. Right? Oh.
